Anne Howard taught in the English Department at the University for 35 years. In that time, she established the Women’s Studies Program and the Women’s Center. She was also active in the community, participating in Chautauqua programs. Established upon her retirement in 1999, this scholarship is for part-time undergraduate or graduate English majors, preferably female, who are returning to college. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need and family obligations (past or present) that delayed their earlier pursuit of a degree. Recipients will have a 3.0 GPA.
