Echeverria Family Endowed Scholarship

Before going on to serve as a Nevada senator, Peter Echeverria ’43 (economics) served in WWII. Mr. Echeverria was proud of his Basque heritage, and was on the organizing committee of the first national Basque festival held in Sparks in 1959. Established in his honor in 2001, this scholarship benefits full-time students with a 2.75 GPA and demonstrated financial need. Recipients will be students of Basque descent, with preference given to Nevada residents.
