Dr. Marc A. Johnson & Dr. Karen P. Penner-Johnson International Study Scholarship

Established by Drs. Marc Johnson and Karen Penner-Johnson, this scholarship is designed to nurture understanding of global citizenship and appreciation for cultural diversity. The scholarship benefits undergraduate students who have reached sophomore, junior or senior standing. Johnson served as University president from 2012 through 2020, a distinguished tenure that saw the University’s stature rise globally, including recognition as a Carnegie “Very High Research” (R-1) institution. Penner-Johnson served on the Nevada Women’s Fund Board, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Advisory Council, and both as a member and president of the Reno Chamber Orchestra Board.
