Rita Laden Endowed Scholarship

Rita Laden has been a faculty member at the University of Nevada, Reno since her appointment as coordinator of campus standards in 1984. Rita earned her doctorate in education at Nevada and went on to receive one of the University’s most coveted honors, the Distinguished Service Award in 2006. It was her husband Steve’s desire to honor Rita’s outstanding service and career at Nevada by establishing this scholarship endowment which was presented to her as a Christmas gift. Recipients shall be shall be full-time students who register for a minimum of 15 regularly scheduled University of Nevada, Reno credit hours each semester they receive the scholarship and maintain full-time status. Preference should be given to candidates with a record of civic or community service and/or student leadership and strong preference should be given to first generation college students.
