Carolyn B. Webster Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Carolyn 65 (English) attended the University of Nevada, Reno where her uncle, Charles Armstrong, was president. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In her senior year, she was chosen at Mackay Day Queen. Carolyn taught at Washoe High School in 1976 and she enjoyed working with kids who didn’t quite fit. After Carolyn passed away in 2007, a friend shared, “She didn’t do big things, but over the course of time her continual small work amounted to a tremendous impact.” It is the hope of her friends and family that this scholarship will continue some of that small work. Recipients shall be pursuing a degree at the University of Nevada, Reno and should be a single parent, and/or have graduated from or participated in an alternative educational program. Preference should be given to recipients who demonstrate financial need and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
