Jack B. Selbig Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Jack joined the University of Nevada, Reno in 1965 as a counselor and foreign student advisor. In 1970, he was promoted to Director, Counseling and Testing Center, and continued as foreign student advisor as well. He and his wife, Doris, would travel the world during these years working with the foreign students. He decided it was time to retire in 1979, after his oldest granddaughter was accepted to the University of Nevada, Reno. It is his family’s wish to establish a scholarship endowment in Jack’s name to honor his tremendous commitment to education and particularly to benefit students who are attending full-time and have a 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students from Mineral County and foreign students at the University of Nevada, Reno.
