Dixie O. Westergard Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Dixie O. Westergard ‘56 (education) was a beloved educator, a northern Nevada community leader, and a Nevada Women’s History Roll of Honor inductee. Her family established this scholarship in 2009 to honor her commitment to teacher education and the family’s commitment to higher education. Recipients will be full-time and degree-seeking in the College of Education, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and be in their student intern semester. First preference will be given to graduates of Reno High School, Elko High School, or Carson High School. Secondary preference will be given to a graduate of a northern Nevada high school.
