Ask Sandra Mitts Yoffie why she established this endowment in 2010, and the answer comes quickly: As a student at Las Vegas High School she had no hope of going to college. But due to a scholarship, she was able to attend the University of Nevada, Reno. “I want someone else to be as fortunate as I was,” she says. Recipients will be full-time students, exhibiting financial need and pursuing a journalism major in news with a 3.0 GPA.
