John Gancarek Social Work Endowed Scholarship

John Gancarek served the children and families in the Washoe County community for 26 years. John was passionate about his work and made significant professional contributions in the field of public child welfare. Many friends and colleagues wanted to memorialize his professional contributions by establishing this scholarship in 2013. Recipients shall be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Social Work and demonstrate financial need. Preference shall be given to students that have an interest in going into child welfare and/or juvenile justice.
