Assemblyman John W. Marvel Medical Student Endowed Scholarship

Established in memory of his late father in 2013, John E. Marvel established this fund to commemorate his father s support for education – including his ability to secure funding for the School of Medicine in the Nevada legislature. He was considered by Robert Daugherty, MD, emeritus professor and dean, to have been one of the fathers of the medical school. Recipients shall have graduated from a high school in rural Nevada with preference given to a students with financial need; and who received his/her undergraduate degree from an NSHE institution.
