Robert Chaires Law and Justice Endowed Scholarship

Robert Chaires cofounded the University of Nevada, Reno Criminal Justice department’s Law and Justice Specialization after working as a police officer and an attorney in private practice. His scholarly interest was primarily focused on issues of minority, diversity, and civil rights issues in criminal justice. Recipients will be full-time undergraduates seeking a degree in Criminal Justice with a Law and Justice Specialization. Recipients will have a 3.0 GPA and must meet one of the following criteria (in order of preference): a) Latino student; b) minority student.
