Oscar Delgado Endowed Scholarship in Medicine

Honor Court member Oscar Delgado established this scholarship to support underrepresented students pursuing a medical degree with a commitment to serving at-risk communities. Delgado’s understanding of the power of compassionate health care originated from his mother. As one of a handful of Spanish speakers at Washoe Medical Center (now Renown Health), she was often called to provide translation services for patients. Delgado began as the director of community relations of Community Health Alliance and now serves as CEO. The scholarship benefits students pursuing an MD from the School of Medicine.
