Milton L. Sharp Endowed Scholarship

Matthew Sharp 89 (political science) established this scholarship in honor of his father, Milton Sharp 54 (civil engineering). Milton was President of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and President of the University student body. After graduation, Milton had a distinguished career as a civil engineer in the Reno/Tahoe community. Milton has been a long-time supporter of the University including being active in the alumni club and a long-time supporter of the athletic program. This scholarship is being established for the primary benefit of providing financial assistance to members of the Sigma Nu Fraternity who have a proven record of leadership and academic success. In the event there are no applicants who meet the criteria in #1 above, then the scholarship may be awarded to any undergraduate student pursuing a degree at the University of Nevada, Reno, with a preference for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and who are graduates from a rural Nevada high school.
