Dennis and Lisa Verner Endowed Scholarship

Mr. Ralph Whitworth 82 (political science) was a founder, principal, and investment committee member of Relational Investors LLC. In honor of Ralph s lifelong friendship with Dennis and Lisa Verner, Ralph and Fe Whitworth created this endowment in their name. Dennis did undergraduate studies at Nevada and was a member of the golf team. Dennis received his graduate degree from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1981. Dennis and his wife Lisa, who grew up in Texas and moved to Winnemucca in 1991, have enjoyed special memories with Ralph and Fe Whitworth over many years of friendship. Recipients shall have a minimum GPA of 3.5 to receive and retain the award and be graduates of a Northern Nevada High School with preference given to graduates from Albert M. Lowry High School or McDermitt Combined School.
