Robert L. Sims Scholar Leader Endowed
Robert L. Sims moved to Reno in 1966 with his new bride to help found the Reno office of the CPA firm Elmer Fox & Company. Bob spent the next 49 years in the tax profession, including serving as a trustee on the E.L. Cord Foundation, the Marybeth M. Lamb Foundation, and the Roxie and Azad Joseph Foundation. Bob loved his profession and this fund was established in his memory by the Roxie and Azad Joseph Foundation and The E.L. Cord Foundation to honor his work and his memory. Recipients will be pursuing a pre-business or business degree with preference given to students pursuing an accounting degree. Recipients will have graduated from a Nevada, California, or Kansas high school and have a minimum GPA of 3.25 to be considered for this award and will maintain at least a 3.25 GPA during the four years in which they receive the scholarship. Students will participate in activities associated with the College of Business Scholar Leader Program, and recipients will be automatically renewed for up to four years, so long as they remain eligible.
