Ira C. and Berenyce Morrison Endowed Scholarship for Mining Engineering
The scholarship was established in 2016 in memory of Ira C. and Berenyce Morrison, life-long residents of Nevada. Ira was born in Genoa and moved from Minden to Reno in the 1930s. His wife Berenyce taught school for several years in Genoa and started a family prior to the move to Reno. The hope is that this scholarship will benefit students needs so that they may concentrate on their academic pursuits rather than worrying about funds for their education. Recipients shall be pursuing an undergraduate degree in mining engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, be full-time students, demonstrate financial need, and be residents of the state of Nevada.
