Robert K. Myles, M.D. Memorial Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2017 in honor of longtime Reno physician Robert K. Myles, M.D. He and his wife, Jean, came to Reno in 1958 where he established a practice in internal medicine, with a focus on cardiology, diabetes and pulmonary medicine. His involvement and influence in medical and nursing education, organized medicine, patient care, and public health had positive impact on the health of the community across the Truckee Meadows and beyond. Recipients shall be full-time students pursuing a degree in Medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Preference given to Native American students and/or students residing in or who have graduate from, high schools in Northern Nevada, or in Plumas, Sierra, Lassen and/or Nevada County located in the state of California. Recipients that are first year medical students shall have a GPA of 3.65 or higher and an MCAT score above 80%. Second, 3rd or 4th year medical students must be ranked in the top quartile of their class.
