William S. Boyd Endowed Scholarship

One of the best-known figures in the gaming industry, Bill Boyd 52 (political science) is the Executive Chairman and co-founder of Boyd Gaming Corporation. As Executive Chairman, he serves as the primary liaison of Boyd Gaming with customers and employees, and takes a leading role in shaping the company s strategic direction and vision. In addition to his work at Boyd Gaming, Bill has been an active philanthropist and civic leader for decades. He is also a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1953 to 1955. He was recognized by the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents as a Distinguished Nevadan in 1985. Recipients shall be new entering students pursuing an undergraduate degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. Recipients shall have graduated from a Clark County high school and be in good academic standing.
