Reno Gazette-Journal Endowed Scholarship

The Reno Gazette Journal is a member of the USA TODAY Network a news leader in communities across the United States. The history of the Northern Nevada news organization begins with the founding of the Nevada State Journal in 1870. Just six years later, the Reno Evening Gazette began publication. On October 7, 1983 the two newspapers merged into the Reno Gazette Journal. Over the years, the RGJ has been consistently recognized for its journalistic excellence and its commitment to community service. This scholarship was established in 2019 to benefit full-time junior or seniors pursuing an undergraduate degree in Journalism with an emphasis in news and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Recipients shall be Nevada residents who have graduated from a Nevada high School and demonstrate financial need.
