Napoleen Joy Rivera-Velasco Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The family of Napoleen Joy R.Velasco 03 established this scholarship in her memory to so that more students could benefit from scholarship support as she had. Recipients shall be full-time students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at the University of Nevada in the fields of Psychology, General Studies, Social Work, Nursing, Education, Counseling with Clinical Mental Health Counseling emphasis, or any other degree with relevance to mental health issues as confirmed by the University of Nevada, Reno Financial Aid Office. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. The Donor desires that when awarding this scholarship, special consideration be given to students who have demonstrated experience in or a commitment to working with (in no particular priority) the African American, Native American, Hispanic, Asian American and/or Pacific Islander communities.
