Counterweight Endowed Scholarship

Vallery LaBarre originally established this scholarship in 2020 and chose to endow it in November 2021. The Counterweight Endowed Scholarship supports students majoring in theatre with design/technology specialization in the Department of Theatre and Dance within the College of Liberal Arts. The scholarship is named in part to counter the plethora of scholarships available to performers. LaBarre enjoyed theatre technology in high school and her daughter bean majoring in theatre with design/technology specialization at the University in the fall of 2020. Recipients shall be full-time students pursuing an undergraduate major in theatre with design/technology specialization and a minimum GPA of 2.75.
