Mabel Winnifred Pitt Endowed Scholarship in Nursing
Geraldine F. Taylor established the Mabel Winnifred Pitt Scholarship Endowment in Nursing in memory of her mother, Mabel Winnifred Pitt, who worked as a nurse for more than 20 years. Pitt served as a nurse in London and France, including in the Battle of the Somme and with the British Army of Occupation. Before her retirement in 1933, Pitt was the head supervisor of the international nursing staff at Panama Hospital. This scholarship benefits students in the Orvis School of Nursing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 who demonstrate a financial need.
