Major General Ondra Berry Endowed Scholarship

Maj. Gen. Ondra Berry 97 MPA had a distinguished career both in the military and as a civilian. He was appointed by the Governor as the Adjutant General for the State of Nevada, overseeing the operations of the Nevada Army and Air National Guard. As a civilian, Maj. Gen. Berry worked in law enforcement in Reno and Las Vegas before serving as the senior vice president of Organizational Culture and Employee Engagement for MGM Resorts International. He credits his experience earning his Master of Public Administration degree from the University with providing him foundational knowledge in the workings of organizations and policies that enabled him to become an effective leader and have a successful career. Recipients of this scholarship will be students pursuing a degree in political science from the College of Liberal Arts. Preference will be given to first-generation college students and veterans of the U.S. armed forces.
