Retired Investigators Guild Endowed Scholarship in Memory of Markisha Antonae Hibbler

The Retired Investigators Guild (RIG) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to restore America s faith in law enforcement by creating safer communities across the nation and hopes to help create the next generation of public safety professionals who exemplify character, ethics, resilience, empathy and knowledge. For those reasons, RIG has established the Retired Investigators Guild Scholarship Endowment in Memory of Markisha Antonae Hibbler. Hibbler was a first-generation college student pursuing a degree in nursing when she was the victim of a homicide in 2015. Mike Marty, the creator of RIG, was the lead homicide detective on Hibbler s case, and his work led to justice for Hibbler and her family. This scholarship will benefit students pursuing a degree at the University. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and preference will be given to first-generation college students or students studying a field related to public safety or computer science.
