John F. Prochnau Graduate Student Endowed Scholarship in Economic Geology
John Prochnau committed his professional life to economic geology. After serving in the U.S. Army, Prochnau obtained degrees in mining engineering and geology before a long career as an independent economic geologist practicing international mineral exploration. John and his wife, Barbara, have established the John F. Prochnau Scholarship Endowment in Economic Geology to assist students pursuing a self-satisfying lifestyle, critical to the needs of society, similar to what they’ve enjoyed. Recipients must be full-time students pursuing a graduate degree in geology with a focus on economic geology in the Center for Research in Economic Geology. Preference will be given to students pursuing a master s degree.
