Marian Capurro Durkee Medicine Endowed Scholarship

Marian Capurro Durkee s family first settled on a ranch west of Reno in 1890. The Capurro family s history is intertwined with the history of the state. Born and raised in Reno, Capurro Durkee is a proud Nevadan and alumna of the University; she earned her BA from the College of Education in 1959. To demonstrate her commitment to the University, Capurro Durkee established this scholarship to offer students financial assistance to help them succeed on their academic journeys and graduate ready to become productive Nevada citizens. The scholarship will benefit students pursuing a degree in the School of Medicine. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need and/or students from historically underrepresented socioeconomic groups.
