Dean's Future Scholars Scholarship
Dean’s Future Scholars (DFS) is an academic outreach program with the goal of increasing the number of low-income, first-generation students graduating from high school, gaining access to higher education, and entering a career in the field of education. The program is housed in the College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno and was established in 2000 by Dr. William Sparkman. The intent of this fund is to provide DFS with a general scholarship fund that anyone can contribute to with the goal of supporting DFS alumni who pursue a degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. Recipients shall be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at the University of Nevada, Reno and participating in the Dean s Future Scholars program. Recipients may be either full-time or part-time students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 to receive and retain the award.
