William and Janet Parish Endowed Athletic Scholarship

The William and Janet Parish Endowed Athletic Scholarship was established to provide funding for varsity student athletes in good academic standing. William Bill and Janet (Wilson) Parish, 45 (biology) have been ardent, life-long supporters of Nevada Athletics. Both Bill and Jan are natives of Reno, NV having attended Reno High School. They both also attended the University. Bill postponed his college education to join the Navy and fought for the United States overseas in World War II. Bill and Jan started a family by the time he returned home from his service. Bill went to work for his father at the insurance company his father started and ended up purchasing the business and running it on his own.
