Claudette Edmiston Scholarship in Nursing

Claudette Marie Edmiston was an Operating Room Nurse in Reno, Nevada for over 40 years at Washoe Medical Center, now known as Renown Medical Center. She was a leader and a mentor to many nurses and surgeons alike. 9. This scholarship was established by the Reno chapter of AORN with a large contribution made by Claudette s family after her passing in 2009. Recipients shall have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to be considered for this award and shall maintain at least a 3.0 GPA during the year(s) they receive the scholarship. Recipients shall be full-time students taking a minimum of 12 regularly scheduled University of Nevada, Reno credit hours each semester they receive the scholarship. However, the University recommends that students enroll in at least 15 credit hours each semester. Graduate students receiving the scholarship must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 regularly scheduled University of Nevada, Reno credit hours during each semester they receive the scholarship. If the recipient graduate student is teaching during one of the semesters of the award, then only 6 credit hours are required for enrollment.
