Toni Chayra Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Dr. Garey Chayra 79 (predental) established this scholarship to honor his mother, Toni Chayra. She raised three sons as a single mother while working full-time and attending school part-time to become a nurse. Dr. Chayra would like to support non-traditional nursing students, who like his mother, may return or enroll in college later in life and face financial and personal responsibilities that challenge them on their journey to a nursing degree. Recipients shall be full-time students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing through the Orvis School of Nursing at the University.
