Dr. Randall Todd Memorial Epidemiology Scholarship

The late Randall Randy Leon Todd provided distinguished service in service of public health for more than forty years, including as state epidemiologist and bureau chief for Disease Control and Intervention Services. During this time, he was the lead investigator for the leukemia cluster in Fallon, Nevada. In 2005, he accepted the position of director, Division of Epidemiology and Public Health Preparedness of the Washoe County Health District. For several years, Dr. Todd taught epidemiology to both undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Nevada, Reno. As well as being adjunct faculty, Dr. Todd was a frequent speaker on campus. He was a mentor to his students in the areas of public health, nutrition, statistics and environmental sciences. His goal was always to prepare the next generation of disease detectives. This scholarship was established to honor his memory and will serve to support students pursuing a graduate degree in epidemiology from the School of Public Health who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
