Madeline K. and Ronald L. Ackley Scholarship in Medicine

The Madeline K. and Ronald Ackley Scholarship in Medicine was established in 2013. Madeline K. Ackley, a native of Portland, OR, is a friend of the University of Nevada, Reno. She and her late husband Ronald, a petroleum engineer, moved to Reno after they retired. Madeline found that the mission of the School of Medicine and the character of its students appealed to her as potential recipients of her support. Like her late husband, Ron, Madeline appreciated Students with a strong work ethic, strong goal orientation, and with financial need appeal to Madeline as potential scholarship recipients. The scholarship shall be awarded to one medical student each year showing financial need, in good academic standing.
