Nevada Gold Mines Scholarship for Women in Earth Sciences
In 2019, Nevada Gold Mines was formed as a joint venture between Barrick and Newmont, that combined significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world. This scholarship, originally established by Barrick, continues to receive support from Nevada Gold Mines and with the Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, is committed to growing the number of women in the mining industry with this scholarship program designed specifically to attract and retain female Mackay students. Recipients shall be a full-time or part-time female student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or a graduate GPA of 3.0. Preference for recipients with demonstrated financial need.
