Robert Snow MacCollister Endowed Scholarship for Fine Printing and Book Arts

This fund was established in 1994 by the MacCollister Family Living Trust. Robert Snow MacCollister and his wife, Helen Goodwin MacCollister professionally operated a press in the Bay Area for nearly 20 years. In 1994, the MacCollisters gifted their McAlasdair Press and their library to the University, feeling that a smaller university would appreciate the gift and put to better use both books and press in teaching future generations the fine art of the printed word. First preference of this scholarship shall be given to graduate students who are interested in book arts, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who wish to learn letter press printing, demonstrate an appreciation for contemporary and traditional printing methods, and/or engage in research projects having to do with book arts and printing. If no qualified graduate students are eligible, preference shall then be given to qualified undergraduate students who maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 and who otherwise meet the criteria listed above.
