Officer Larry Johnson Memorial Endowed Scholarship

A Louisiana native, Officer Larry Johnson moved to Reno in 1979 and joined the Sparks Police Department in 1981, where he served until he was killed in the line of duty in 1995. This scholarship was established in 1995 in honor of Officer Johnson and in recognition of all other officers who have given their lives protecting the citizens of Nevada. Recipients will be full-time students majoring in criminal justice with a 3.0 GPA. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who plan to enter law enforcement.
